Is it possible to search for a record, when linking a record, by searching for values in linked or lookup fields in the record being sought? That sounds confusing, but if I have a linked record field and I open it to go find a record to link to, I can search by the primary field. But can I also search by lookup or linked record fields in that table?
Use Case: I have a project for an order. I want to link the project to the order. The order has a sales rep record linked to it. Can I search for the sales rep by specifying the "Linked Rep" field as one of the fields to display in the record lookup panel that opens when trying to establish the link to the order?
It doesn't appear to be a capability and it severly limits what can be used to find the record to link to in our environment. Do I have to know the order number (the primary field) or can I lookup by other data? I want to use lookup fields or linked record fields to search for the record I want to link to. Not just "static" data in the record I want to link to. You have to be able to lookup by linked record and lookup record fields. Or so it seems to me.
