I might not understand the purpose of My Tasks in the My Work View, so factor in ignorance, but, as of now, I feel like the best use case for them are to be used as reminders.
If a task is created in the My Work view, it is added as My Tasks.
1) You can't delete a "My Task" entry in mobile. Android.
2) If you choose a Solution for that task, Statuses of the task do not take on the statuses of the chosen solution.
A use case: Working in the My Work view and thinking of something that needs to be done in a Solution, so I quickly create a task. When I assign it to a Solution, I want it to be moved to that solution as well as stay in My Work. This would make sense as it already has the necessary criterion to be included in the My Work View. I need to use the framework of that solution, but I don't want to jump out of the My Work screen to do so. That would be a massive amount of unnecessary clicks and interfere with workflow.
If I don't choose a Solution, I can just treat it as a Reminder or quick ToDo (like an errand or reminder to get milk).
3) Status of a task created in the My Work view: they are Open and Resolved.
That sounds more like a reminder/quick task that I referred to in #2. I would love to have control over these statuses...to be set my own default statuses. Having separate My Work statuses seems like it might have usage separate from Slutions, but I need more that just Open and Done. I might be waiting on something or I could have a bottleneck. Added statuses to the this View would increase productivity.
4) The green icon (mobile) on the My Work screen should reflect the current status color.
This is the status inside the task. The "Ready for Review" status is orange. I would like the green Status icon to reflect the orange, maybe even spelling out the Status instead of the word, Status.
5) When you open a "My Task" on Android Mobile, it creates a Save prompt before I have done anything.
It seems like that should only appear if I have modified the task. It feels like extra work.
6) Maybe a new name for "My Work".
I understand why it's called My Work, but not everything is work. I might have an appointment for anything else not having to do with work. I might be planning for a fun birthday party or holiday or thinking of what I can do for a family member. Those tasks are not work. So maybe "My Tasks" or giving us the ability to name it whatever we want? I'm used to Home from using ClickUp, "My Home" would work.
I'm a consultant for a niche in personal management. Work is not the most important thing to my clients. It's personal management. We schedule work tasks plus personal tasks. I'm concerned about the connotation of "My Work". I'm not sure a healthy mind needs the most important View - a base/pivot View - to be all about work.
In all fairness, on ClickUp's "Home" View, they also have My Work. I never paid attention to it because it was an H2 tab along side the Calendar tab. I just saw the top Home H1. For some reason, I am more affected by the H1 being My Work in SS. Oh well, might be subliminal, but I'm noticing. Could be just me.
