How to update Existing records OR add new records if match not found using Make.com

I have a scenario in Make that retrieves data from a site that I want to use to either find and update a record in a SmartSuite app OR if a match cannot be found (using a primary key value mind you, not a record ID), create a new record in the same SmartSuite app. The data I have is ready to be used, but I can't see how to do this with the SmartSuite module and fear I may need to use the SmartSuite "make an API Call" action to do this in multiple steps.

Any suggestions on how to do this with Make, or is this beyond it's capabilities?
